Moss to Sign Multi-year Deal Shortly?
AOL Sports' Sean Jensen is reporting that star wideout Randy Moss is expected to sign a multi-year deal with the near-perfect New England Patriots that will keep him at the receiving end of Tom Brady's passes for the next 3 years. Citing two league sources, Jensen claims that Moss will sign a 3 year, $30 million deal ($12 to $15 million guaranteed) that will place him among the league's highest paid wide receivers. While it's typically difficult to put much stock in any information that comes out before the free agency period begins, this deal does not seem like much of a surprise because there's no doubt that the Pats would love to retain Moss and would be willing to pay substantially to do so. Free agency begins Friday at midnight, so if this rumor is indeed true, look for it to be officially announced very soon.
