Jack Edwards has officially lost touch with reality

Most people in Boston seem to be in one of two camps: Love Jack Edwards, or hate him. Well let me preface this by saying that I'm a huge Jack Edwards fan. A lot of people say you have to be unbiased to be a truly effective sports commentator (whether it be play-by-play guy for a pro team or a high school sports writer, or anything in between). Well I don't ascribe to that notion. Neither does Edwards, and that's one of the reasons he's been so successful to this point in his career.

But this broadcast witnessed the sinking of Jack Edwards to a new all-time low. Without even getting into the fact that the hit by Lucic was clearly a cheap shot (by every definition in the book, it was, even though I instantly excuse any and all acts of violence against members of the Flyers because they tried to decapitate two of our players last season...) that Edwards failed to acknowledge, he launches into some devilishly evil cackle that would scare most youths 12 and under half to death. I can put up with the "12 Days of Christmas" thing he made us all listen to a few months ago, but when he blatantly begins altering facts and interrupting broadcasts with maniacal laughs so torturous and diabolical that I literally almost shart myself, that's where I draw the line.

Excessive celebration after goals and an almost childlike adoration of the team and its players: YES. Interrupting the game and detracting my attention while simultaneously nearly making me shit my pants: a resounding NO.

PS - Hat tip to Barstool for first posting this. Apparently Deadspin had it, too. Thanks to both, either way.

Personally, I hate Edwards and his mysterious "half wall" but even if I didn;t... this is just strange and wrong.

    But the B's won right!?
