Garnett out at least two more weeks

The Boston Globe is reporting that Kevin Garnett will once again be out, this time until April 12th at the earliest, due to his ailing right knee. The Eagle Tribune also says that surgery was an option, but KG ruled it out due to his belief that it would cause him to miss the playoffs.
Obviously, anytime surgery enters the equation, it's kind of a scary thing. I like the fact that Doc and co. have seemingly talked the always-intense KG into taking it easy for the next couple of weeks, but who knows what The Big Ticket will be capable come playoff time? It was encouraging to see him come back and grab just under 17 minutes per game in four contests, but now that appears to have been a bad idea. It's obviously way too early to jump to conclusions and chalk this season up for a loss, but there's no doubt that not having KG out there damages them in a way that they likely couldn't recover from.
Big Baby and Mikki Moore and carry the load in the short-term, but for those of you that think those two can combine to offer the type of production KG does in the postseason, you're certifiably insane. We need a healthy KG back in the lineup for this postseason to look anything like last year's. I just hope that if he isn't healthy for that April 12th tilt against Cleveland, they don't bring him back for the final three regular season games just to shake the rust off. Seems like that's what they were trying to do here and that didn't work out so well, did it?
