Pats legend Bruschi announces retirement

Now that’s the way a real man retires. None of this Brett Favre bullshit where you put a death grip on a team’s coin purse and force them to wait for you to make your call. Go out like a champion, admit to yourself and others you just don’t have what it takes to compete at the level you’ve been used to your entire career, and let your team move on.
Tedy’s career obviously speaks for itself: 13 seasons, three Super Bowl championships, 1,134 total tackles, 30.5 sacks, 12 interceptions (four touchdowns), 62 passes defensed, 18 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries (one touchdown), 55 special teams tackles, and one of the most unbelievable, unlikely comebacks in the history of professional athletics. I think the main thing I'll remember most about Bruschi, though, is his off-the-field involvement in the community. If anyone you know saw his My Wish segment on ESPN and didn't get at least a bit choked up, they very well do not have a soul. It's with that same thoughtfulness and passion that he approached the game, making him a pleasure to watch every games of his 13-year career.
Just won't be the same without him on the sidelines. Hopefully they find a way to keep him on as some sort of coach or in a personnel position.
